Donation to the East Lyme Police Department.

Marc Antonio from Girard Toyota in New London presented Michael Finkelstein, the Chief of Police for the Town of East Lyme, with a donation for the purchase of exercise equipment for the East Lyme Police Department. The Antonino family of auto groups appreciates service to the community, and recognizes the challenges that law enforcement officers face. To help our First Responders provide the best possible service, the Antonino family sought to find a way to help improve Officer wellness. "There is a well-established correlation between the physical wellness of Police Officers, and their psychological and emotional well-being. When Officers are able to create that balance, the service they provide to its citizens only improves. The women and men of the East Lyme Police Department are extremely grateful to Girard Toyota and the Antonino Family for their extremely generous donation of $10,000 to purchase new equipment for the Public Safety building", said East Lyme Chief of Police Michael Finkelstein.

Three organizations partner for car giveaway

Niantic Children's Museum, Miracle League of Southeastern Connecticut and Niantic Main Street announce their summer-long fundraiser

The Niantic Children's Museum, Miracle League of Southeastern Connecticut and Niantic Main Street announce their summer-long fundraiser, the Super Supra Shoreline Car Raffle.

“If we’ve learned anything from last year, it's that we’re all stronger together. We’re incredibly proud of this collaboration between the three organizations,” said Dave Putnam, director of the Miracle League of Southeastern Connecticut.

One lucky winner will win a 2020 Toyota GR-Supra 3.0 Premium, valued at $56,140.00, courtesy of Girard Toyota of New London. The fundraiser kicks-off on May 15, 2021, at the Niantic Main Street Vintage Market and ends on August 20, 2021. There will be a drawing at 7 p.m. that day at the McCook Point Park Concert to determine who wins the car. Tickets are $100 and are available online at NianticKids.org, mlsect.org or NianticMainStreet.org. In-person tickets will be available at East Lyme Parks & Recreation Office and many events held throughout the summer including the Niantic Farmers Market. Only 2,021 tickets will be sold.

“All of us here at Girard Toyota want to do our part to help our community and empower the mission of not one, but three wonderful organizations,” said Marc Antonino, general manager at Girard Toyota.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will help benefit Phase II of The Miracle League of Southeastern CT's sports field, new exhibits and renovations for the Niantic Children's Museum and Niantic Main Street's new downtown art initiative.
