Girard Toyota in New London has been recognized with an award for 40 continuous years as a Toyota dealership. The award was recently presented by Toyota's New York region general manager Kevin Cour to owners John and Charles Antonino.
Leo Antonino and Girard Antonino started a used-car dealership named Girard Motors back in 1967. In 1969, the owners were approached by Toyota to become part of the new-car dealership franchise and changed the dealership's name to Girard Toyota. Girard Antonino's son John later took over the business when his father retired. The dealership is currently run by John Antonino and Charles Antonino.
